About “The Quiet Parts”

In politics, there is a phrase known as ‘saying the quiet part out loud’. Usually when a politician/party is trying to obfuscate their true, nefarious goals, they will lie about their goals by saying something different but never stating their true intentions out loud, hence the coining of the term ‘the quiet parts’. These quiet parts are widely understood to be the end goal, but saying them out loud immediately would likely anger the populace or cause backlash. In this song, the politician/party/whomever have disregarded whispering the quiet parts and are now openly and proudly shouting them. The facade of decorum has been destroyed and the monsters are fully open about their intentions. As Maya Angelou famously said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”
